Fishing Report 22 July 2008

Glenmore Trail - Policemans Flats

The river was in great shape today and respectable fishing weather too.
Sun in the AM with cloud in the afternoon and better fishing in the morning.
Tried a SJW with a beadhead trailer and an elk hair with a trailer on the
surface for brief times to no luck. Golden stones were on the menu and
so I stayed with them throughout the day. Eight fish and, except for a
whitefish, they were all rainbows. Best one was twenty inches and a hard
fighter though he was running a little thin I thought. Found the rainbows
mostly in the slacker water near the seams and along the banks. No risers.
Lots of fishermen out on a fine day! Five boats, a couple of pontoons,
maybe ten along the shore. Never saw any with fish and asked one fly
fisherman in a pontoon boat how he had been doing and he answered
"No complaints". Always it is. Good fishing and not, the ride down the
river lends a perspective apart from only winning and losing.

On the river 9 AM - 3:30 PM.
